Spiral silo with hopper bottom
STANDARD FEATURES: Technobins spiral silos are built directly on site with two types of technologies:
Seamed (original LIPP technique)
Welded (original SOCAMA technique)
From the static point of view, the two types are the same; the design is made according to DIN and EUROCODES and in compliance with ATEX and HACCP directives. The inner wall is substantially SMOOTH ensuring there is no stagnation of the stored product.
The cylinder is SEALED making the silo suitable for all types of product preservation.
This hopper bottom version is manufactured in diameters from 4 to 10 metres with capacity of up to 1,000 m3.
They are manufactured in high-strength galvanised Z350 steel sheet, with possible over-coating (for areas with a corrosive environment, e.g. the sea, or for aesthetic reasons and environmental impact), and stainless steel (only in the welded version).
The seamed version is used almost exclusively for the storage of granular and powdery products (aggregates and cereals in particular), while the welded steel version is also used for plastic.
The roof is the same as that for the silos with flat bottom.
When the calculation requires it, reinforcing uprights are inserted, generally internally, using a technique that does not require holes, does not affect the galvanising and does not hinder the output flow of the product.
The hopper can have different slopes, hanging version or leaning version, equipped with internal cone ventilation channels, especially for products that flow with difficulty.
The support structure can be with (also depending on the height from the ground of the discharge mouth):
Ground pillars for single silos
Skirt to the ground with reinforced uprights (our typical solution)
Metal structure for battery of silos
Reinforced concrete slab for battery of silos battery
For more information and comparisons with other types of grain silos, see “Selection guide”. We also include metal silos with raised flat bottom raised (see waste or by-products of the cereal sector or for example wood chips, sawdust, pellets, etc.) in this category. A very important use of these silos is silos for mixes from the milling industry (with discharge outlet at about 1.5-2 metres above the ground for weight metering). Another widespread use is for rapid delivery silos on trucks
